Breeze Motor Group has been supplying new and used Volkswagen vans - both commercial and lifestyle - on the South Coast of England since 2002, and we have built an enviable reputation for outstanding service.

We’ve now combined our many years’ experience in selling the Volkswagen California with our VWFS Rent-a-Car business, to offer you a camper van hire experience from the Volkswagen experts. And so, Breeze Campers was born! 

We offer the latest models of the full California range, from Caddy California to the classic California Ocean 6.1 and the impressive Grand California motorhome.

Not only do our factory-built vans meet the high Volkswagen safety standards for fixtures, fittings, seats and beds, all our vans are maintained to this high standard by our Volkswagen-trained technicians.

No-one knows these vans better than us!

We recommend picking up your VW campervan from our Breeze Van Centre in Portsmouth but we can arrange collection from our Poole and Southampton sites. Where you go from there is entirely up to you! We don’t impose any mileage restrictions and we’re more than happy for you to head off to Europe via the channel tunnel or the ferry ports that are conveniently just down the road from our van centres. All we ask is you share any great photos with us when you get home (and maybe bring the sun back with you too).

We’ll give you a full handover when you collect your camper and you’ll have the chance to ask lots of questions. However, there can be lots to take in, particularly when you’re excited to get your adventure underway, so, if you do find yourself forgetting key info about the pop-top or the stow away table, don’t worry, there are lots of helpful ‘how to’ videos available on our videos page.

While you’re away your own vehicle will be stored securely at one of our compounds, depending where you pick-up your hired camper van, so you can enjoy your holiday – whether a UK staycation or venturing abroad - worry-free.

About our vans

At Breeze Campers, the aim is for you and your family to easily explore in style and comfort so we have hand-picked the ultimate spec’s available for the Caddy, Ocean and Grand California to save you the leg work.

So the question is, do you need space, more space or loads of space?

Our Caddy California is the smallest vehicle in the range but don’t be fooled by the exterior. Packed ready to camp with a spacious drive away tent, you’ll find yourself with a great base for camping, plus the ability to nip into town for those last-minute essentials. You can easily park the Caddy too as it has the same footprint as a Golf estate.

The Caddy will easily accommodate 2 people and there’s even room for a small dog too. Additional campers can stay in the tent (as long as they’re not put out by the fact you’re tucked up in the cosy van!).

The California Ocean T6.1 is your classic VW camper van. With its pop-top and flexible interior, along with clever storage for clothing, tables and chairs, you can easily travel and sleep with 4 people and two small (one large) dog(s). With a hob unit and sink, fresh water and gas supply, the Ocean can be upgraded to make it the ultimate wild camper for anything up to 3 days off grid. Plug in to the electric hook-up on site and you’ve got a mobile home from home with all the mod-cons. Pack up is super-easy too so you can leave the site for day trips while you still have everything you need on board. Obviously, it won’t rain because you’re on holiday but, if it did, the awning provides useful shelter from the elements or, dare we say it, the perfect shade from the beating sun!

Talking of home from home, don’t forgot the Grand California 600. Based on the Volkswagen Crafter, the Grad Cali is built to cover distance in comfort. The cab is luxurious and feels like you’re inside a modern sports car (no, seriously) while the seating will easily get you to North Wales without jumping out and doing that funny leg-straightening-arms-stretched-high move you associate with sitting on an airplane for too long. If extra space is your thing or your trip is going to run in to two weeks or more, then consider hiring the Grand Cali to just add a little luxury to your adventures. Again, equipped with the built-in hob cooker, sink and wind-away awning like the Ocean but with the extra luxury of your own toilet and shower! We’ve all seen festival toilets right…
